The Science and Technology Nexus (STN) is an open-access peer-reviewed journal committed to publishing high-quality articles in the field of Interdisciplinary Research. The journal is owned by the Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology (SEU) and published by the Scientific Scholar.

Role of The Journal/Society

  • Editorial Process and Direction: The Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology (SEU) plays a central role in the editorial direction of the journal Science and Technology Nexus. Specifically:
  • Editorial Board Appointment: The Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology (SEU) appoints the Editor-in-Chief and oversees the composition of the editorial board.
  • Editorial Policy and Scope: The aims and scope of the journal are determined by the Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology (SEU) in consultation with the editorial board to ensure alignment with the Association’s mission and the needs for the community.
  • Peer Review Process and Final Decisions: The Editor-in-Chief, who is appointed by and reports to the Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology (SEU) manages the peer review process, makes final decisions on manuscripts, and ensures editorial independence and scientific integrity.
  • Strategic Direction: Major decisions regarding journal strategy, policy updates, or editorial initiatives are made under the guidance of the Saxony Egypt University for Applied Science and Technology (SEU) Executive Committee.

Role of Scientific Scholar

Scientific Scholar serves solely as the publishing partner, providing publishing infrastructure, manuscript management system, website hosting, copyediting, production, and distribution services to support the journal’s publication process. Scientific Scholar does not influence or participate in the editorial decisions or the peer review process.

Aims & Scope

Science and Technology Nexus is an inter- and multi-disciplinary journal in science that aims to support the publishing of interdisciplinary research by bridging the gap between various scientific fields and key technological advancements. The journal’s goal is to disseminate cutting-edge research findings in science and technology, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary studies. This emerging journal shall have a more explicit focus on the intersection between different disciplines, emphasizing the value of interdisciplinary collaboration with emphasis on studies involving new technologies. The journal welcomes submissions from a wide range of disciplines, with a special focus on interdisciplinary research that integrates insights from multiple fields. The Science Nexus journal shall attract readers from a diverse range of disciplines spanning basic and biological sciences, mathematics and engineering, medicine, and agriculture.

Our audience includes researchers from the field of Interdisciplinary Research.

Review Process

STN has a highly rigorous peer-review process that makes sure that manuscripts are scientifically accurate, relevant, novel and important. Authors disclose all conflicts, affiliations and financial associations such that the published content is not biased.

Editorial Team

The editorial board comprises a panel of experts from various disciplines of medical and allied sciences to provide their expertise and guidance in maintaining the clarity of content and focus of the purpose for the journal.

Specializing in metabolomics, natural products chemistry, and plant biochemistry, Mohamed A. Farag completed his PhD at Texas Tech University, USA, in 2003. In 2005, after spending time as a postdoctoral fellow at The Samuel Noble Foundation, USA, and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center, USA, he became assistant professor in 2005 at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University, Egypt.

Since 2009, Dr Farag has been working as a part-time visiting professor at the Technical University of Munich, Germany, to participate in teaching plant metabolomics and chemometrics modelling for master students, and in 2009–2010 he held the Alexander von Humboldt fellowship at the Leibniz Institute for Plant Biochemistry, Germany. Dr Farag now works full time as a professor at the Pharmacognosy Department within the Faculty of Pharmacy, Cairo University where his research work focuses primarily on applying innovative biochemical technologies (metabolomics) to help answer complex biological questions in medicine, herbal drugs analysis, and agriculture.

Dr. Farag has been recognized with several awards, including UNESCO Award in life sciences 2023, Egypt Higher State Merit Award (2023), Abd el Hameed Shoman award (2016), Egypt Higher State Incentive Award (2012), Cairo University Incentive Award (2009), TWAS award in science diplomacy (2014), and the Mass Spectroscopy Performance Award, TTU, USA (2004). For his highly cited publications with close to 16,000 citations and an H index of 64 https://www.scopus.com/authid/detail.uri?authorId=7006035865, Dr. Farag was selected as a top researcher in the field of plant biology in Africa by the American society of plant biology, USA.
Dr. Farag is a current TWAS fellow in Agriculture from Egypt.

Plagiarism Policy

The journal uses plagiarism check software (iThenticate) on the Editor’s and Reviewer’s panel in the manuscript management system which is used to check and control Plagiarism for each article. Any manuscript, that is found to have plagiarism is rejected.

Archival Policy

We use PORTICO for our third-party repository for all articles published with us. All our articles are assigned a DOI number. We are members of https://crossref.org

Science and Technology Nexus is an open-access journal, and manuscripts published are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution-Non Commercial-Share Alike 4.0 License (CC-BY-NC-SA 4.0), which allows others to remix, transform, and build upon the work non-commercially, as long as appropriate credit is given and the new creations are licensed under the identical terms.

Ahead of Print Policy

Articles published online under the Ahead of Print model are considered published and can be cited and quoted using the DOI as the reference source. Science and Technology Nexus has a policy that changes will not be made after the publication of an article without following accepted procedures for making corrections to the scientific record.
